Orchestral Musician

Orchestral playing has always been a big part in Elsa's flute playing as that’s what she enjoys the most. She was the former Co-Principal Flute of Shaanxi Symphony Orchestra and Guiyang Symphony Orchestra's Principal Piccolo. The highlights of the concerts while on tour with Shaanxi Symphony Orchestra were performances at the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria, and Tonhalle in Zürich, Switzerland.

During her student life, she was very active in orchestral playing. She was selected on the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestral Training Scheme as well as playing side-by-side with the Welsh National Opera Orchestra.

Chamber Musician

Elsa takes part in many forms of chamber music playing, including wind quintet, flute duo, flute viola and harp trio and more. She appears in many concerts with her chamber friends. She is a member of Apeliotes Duet with her best friend oboist Nikki Wu.

Educator

Elsa is a very experienced teacher and has been teaching for over ten years. She enjoys meeting every pupil no matter if the student wants to become professional or is just learning music for fun. She will help them in every way. Ultimately, enjoying the music is the most important thing! Her students are all doing very well, many of them have passed ABRSM or Trinity College London music grade exams on flute, piano and theory. One of Elsa's students now is studying at Xi'an Conservatory of Music. Elsa was one of the official exam translators of ABRSM in China.
